Elders
|
House of Yeshua is an elder-led fellowship. We have three elders of equal status who share the responsibility to serve those who fellowship at the House of Yeshua in teaching, organizing and governing. The teaching assignment is rotated each week so over three weeks each elder will teach one Sabbath service. We do not have a pastor or rabbi.
Our elders come from different religious and educational backgrounds. We choose to fellowship together based on pivotal points we all agree with—such as the divinity of Yeshua the Messiah, that He is our Savior and Redeemer and that only through Him can we come to our Father.
We allow for different views on many matters that the Scriptures are silent on, or that are not clearly explained in either the Old Testament or the New, among the elders and within the fellowship as a whole. Where the Scriptures give direction we strive to conform to what they say.
We encourage open discussion of individual beliefs because in our experience, we all possess parts of the Truth, and we also all have a degree of error we have picked up along the way. We strive to come to agreement and unity but find that often we need to agree to disagree.
When Yeshua returns, we believe He will resolve the issues we cannot come to agreement on. Until then, some issues may remain unresolved, but we continue to study and search to come to knowledge of the Truth.

“Behold, the days are coming, says YHWH,
when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah
. . . I will put My law in their minds,
and write it on their hearts;
and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
Jeremiah 31:31,33b
